Mike,

Deja Vu,  I have a Lycoming 360 F1A6 with a MT three blade propeller with a
Lycon Sump, forward feed, IO320B1A sump  with an Airflow Performance fuel
injected system. The certified engine had I believe an HA4 pressure
carburator. The inspector asked me if all reciprocating parts were stock, no
high compression pistons etc.  I replied yes. so I got 25 hours.  It seems
as though the engine and prop have been previously approved and he was
apparantly concerned about torsional vibration etc. I was pleasantly
surprised.  Maybe you might be so lucky.  As for the flight training. I paid
Nieco for about 10 hours in their company plane. But you and I both know
that when you spend a great portion of your heart and soul and life building
an airplane you really want to fly it on its near maiden voyage.  Don Geotz
flew it first on an evening and the next day we both flew the plane for 30
minutes around the patch. What a thrill and also knowing that there is some
real competency beside you should something go wrong.  Don left that AM and
I was on cloud nine. Did we violate the FAR's?  I don't know. maybe.  Was it
safer, you bet. Am I happy? you bet.  It is a great experience.
