Gary,
What is the flap chord length (center line of hinge to TE) at the r= oot on a 235?  It must be shorter than a 320/360 given the 0.75" TE tr= avel.
My trailing edge moves 1.48" to go from 0 to -= 7 degrees.
An added complication is that the = inboard edge of the flap is not perpendicular to the hinge.  If you me= asure along the inboard edge, you'll get a slightly longer measurement.&nbs= p;
Honestly, I prefer a direct angular measure= ment.  It takes all the geometry issues out of the equation.  I j= ust checked the iPhone (Theodolite App) against my digital level.  The= iPhone is a bit harder to read but it followed the level ex= actly.  The 'not free' version allows you to do screen captures.

Don't know if this is any help.

The reflex position on the 235 airframe (same wing as the 320/360 w= ing) is up from the faired in with the fuselage position, which is 0 degre= es.  -9 degrees is 0.75" (3/4") up from the fuselage.  So you co= uld interpolate the distance to come up with the amount you are thinking of= changing to.
