I have the Ray Allen trim speed adjuster in my Legacy, connected to my wing flaps system, so that the elevator trim servo moves slower when the flaps are up.  The speed adjuster is not required, but it is nice to have.  It's cheap enough that I'd suggest installing it now, when it will be easy to do, instead of later.  On the other hand, it does increase parts count with a small but real decrease in overall reliability.
