  At the (appreciated) advice of a LML subscriber this past weekend, I foun=
d a used outflow valve at a salvage yard for $2500, far better than the cur=
rent $10,400 price for new.  I called Michelle @ Lancair Monday afternoon t=
o verify it was the right part number and got her voice mail (left a messag=
e).  I found a message Monday night on my cell phone that after some more r=
esearch at the factory, she had "good news" for me on the valve.  Expecting=
 she was going to tell me she found it had been shipped "way back when" (an=
d I already knew I didn't have it in my shop), I was not getting my hopes u=
p.

   Well, her good news was that Lancair went through all my files and clear=
ly verified I was never shipped the valve.  They are going to provide me a =
new one at NO CHARGE.  Fourteen years (to the month) later, completely diff=
erent ownership, and they are covering a $10,400 valve not shipped with the=
 original kit. =20

This is unbelievable!! =20

   To be clear, I never expected anything from the factory.  I am sure when=
 Lancair was bought many years ago, there was no outstanding "payable" stat=
ed on the books for this, so covering this is essentially new ownership ste=
pping up "above and beyond".
