Hi Chris,

I'm copying the LML because I don't have the full answer for you.
I do know that the current rev oil cooler behind cyl #2 is, very effective.  ....so much so that there's a door you can close to reduce the flow.   Maybe someone else on the LML will give the history.  There may have been an earlier rev that was not so effective.  The current rev feeds from the back baffle where the pressure should be high.

If you have the current rev and your oil is too hot, you may have another problem.   ....like bad temp probe, incorrect air plumbing to the cooler, oil flow problem, engine timing problem, some part of the engine not properly lubricated etc.   How are your CHT's?

Has anyone added another oil cooler, NACA vent, or any other trick to keep your 4P oil temp cool. We are having problems with oil temp and want some input on devices or modifications anyone has performed on their Lancair 4P. Please contact us directly.
