LOBO and Lancair Inc. have updated the pricing policy for the 1st Annual LOBO/Lancair Fly-In scheduled this upcoming October. The changes will not affect anyone who has already paid unless you wish to cancel. We made these changes in the interest of keeping registration fees as low as possible for everyone, and to address a question from a member regarding cancellation we have not considered until now. UPDATE:
Our planning team has put together a remarkable list of forums on Friday and Saturday including representatives from industry leaders like AmSafe, Moritz, NationAir, Garmin, George Braly on 100LL, Lancair, Earl Lawrence from the FAA and Heaven’s Landing. In addition, LOBO's own Bob Pastusek will speak about strut maintenance, and we'll still have time left over for lunch and other social activities! In addition, many more sponsors will be there displaying their products.
And in case you've forgotten, we have a special event set up for the ladies: a combination Breakfast/Fashion show sponsored by the local Chico’s (sorry, but this event requires ADVANCE RESERVATIONS, contact Claudette colwells@comcast.net for the details).

LOBO and Lancair Inc. continue to work hard organizing and promoting what will surely become the premier annual event for Lancair owners and enthusiasts nationwide. We are focusing all our efforts on making this a first-class affair.
As all of the details begin to coalesce, we must acknowledge this is a learning process for almost everyone involved, and we’d like to share some of what we’ve learned. For example, the advance registration fees of $75 per attendee ($50 for accompanying spouse) do not cover the per person costs for the full agenda of events we’ve planned. One method we’ve used to keep registration fees low--despite our full fly-in agenda--is to seek sponsor support, and they’ve come through for us big time! If you remember nothing else from this flyer, please remember this fly-in would not be nearly as affordable for you, the attendee, without the significant financial support of our sponsors.
Another way we’ve been able to keep registration costs down is by getting advance commitments from attendees. This allows us to sign favorable contracts with the Hilton for use of their facilities based on the number of attendees. We understand a few Lancair enthusiasts have every intention to attend, but simply cannot commit until the last moment. This means we must add a cushion to our numbers to account for those few, which of course, adds to our costs. This reality should be recognized in our registration fee structure.
One potential attendee recently asked if there was a cancellation policy, and we realized we had not actually developed one as yet. The contracts we've signed with vendors are based on the numbers who have registered, and unfortunately we cannot modify them. That means if you choose not to attend after registering, LOBO and Lancair Inc. will still be on the hook for the contracts we've signed. Given the level of financial commitment by all involved in organizing this event, we are certain you can appreciate the need for all attendees to have some ‘skin in the game’ so to speak, so we’ve addressed the issue with a cancellation fee. While the fee won't make up the full loss, it will at least reduce the 'sting' for LOBO and Lancair Inc.
So, with all this in mind, we determined registration pricing should encourage early registration while discouraging cancellation. Please keep in mind these policies are intended to keep the event costs as low as possible for everyone.
