You cannot legally use an ipad as a sole source receiver for flying a GPS approach-- nor would it be wise to do so.

Thanks, John.  Does that mean an iPad with ForeFlight and approaches wouldn't be 
legal? I also have the GRT dual Horizon EFIS with its GPS, and an external 
Garmin 396.
