This is my first question so be gentle.  I finished hanging  my rudder and elevators and was in the process of trimming the inboard edges of the elevator to accommodate the rudder swing when I discovered that the rudder control tube’s 5/8” stroke wasn’t long enough to produce more than +/- 15 degree swing before hitting the bellcrank stops. I need a stroke of 1 ¼” to get the +/- 30  degrees called out in the manual.  I can get this by turning the shear assembly around allowing me to attach the control tube farther out on the bellcrank. My question: is this going to be problematic?  I don’t know the function of the shear assembly. Doesn’t seem like I’d want it to shear under any circumstance.

Am I missing some other adjustment that will swing the rudder correctly?  It’s hot and dark in the tail end of a legacy and I don’t like crawling back there any more than is necessary. At 230 lbs, I’m like a pig in a python and lucky to get out.
