EnerSys (Odyssey) convinced the local shop to evaluate
the batteries. They finally came to the conclusion that the batteries were
indeed dead but for no apparent good reason. Odyssey then offered to send
me a replacement set at no charge. All I need to do is fill out their
warranty claim and send them back the plastic top from each battery to prove
they are out of service. I will spend time on the plane's wiring to sleuth
out the cause for the failure. A very reasonable handling of the situation
by EnerSys and a good reason to plan on Odyssey batteries in the
future.
