The counterbalance weights I believe, increase the amplitude and duration of the oscillation. Removing the weight from the elevator tips and placing it inside the fuselage on the bob weight arm, reduces the fly wheel effect. It is a simple matter of less mass at the ends of the elevators. I also believe the SB on elevator bearings supports my theory. After installing the V-stab extension, there is a noticeable increase in stiffness of the fuselage. The extension extends over the before mentioned fuselage cross section adding an additional structure stiffening the fuselage in torsion.
