Only if your OAT probe is
exposed to RAM air.
WRONG. The error occurs in varying amounts depending on the where
the probe is mounted on the skin. On the leading edge, the error is the
Ram air , but the mix between the two depends on the local velocity where the
probe is mounted.
In other words, the OAT sensor error is inescapable. But you can
correct as Bruce notes, using either a pencil or calculator, or your black box,
if it was set up to do so.
