I'm building one of the new SFB LIVP kits (with the elev trim hinge on the bottom of the horizontal stabilizer and the actuator arm on the top). A recent letter to this maillist noted that on the first test flight of a just completed SFB LIV, the elevator trim tab was found to be too small (the writer said this was according to the test pilot, Lancair's own Don Goetz). I've heard other examples of the LIV trim tabs being too small (e.g. LNN April/May 1995, p 167). What is the experience out there - are builders using the factory sized trim tab or are they enlarging it? ...Clark Still
