Doesn't matter that they maybe will fix it (at pro-rated costs, naturally) - my engineering sensibilities are offended in a really ugly way at the thought. And more so considering that the engines were sold to an unsuspecting public. The ring thing is only a small part of the many poorly engineered components continuously put into these engines - bad metallurgy in cranks, rusting and pitting on starter parts, etc., etc. One only has to look back at the compendium of AD's over the years (for both L and C) to get the picture. Sorry guys, 30 to 50K for a new engine ought to buy superior quality, but obviously doesn't, and we're used to it! Duh! Not hard to understand why there's so much interest in alternative power plants.
