When I first installed mine, I blindly popriveted them to the cockpit closeout rib just
like the manual says....

But if you ever want to replace the hinge pin with PTFE spaghetti tubing and a stainless
steel pin, you'll be glad you attached the hinge to the closeout ribs with screws
instead.
