I flew with the Lightspeed 20x the David Clark ANR's and the Peltor 7104. The Peltor used an internal 9v battery and were the quietest when the ANR was off. They were also very comfortable. I thought that most of the noise in my cockpit may be of higher frequency because it would be wind noise. The ANR headsets mostly stop low frequency noise. I am very happy with the Peltors. Sometimes I forget to turn on the ANR. They are still quiet. I only have to replace the batteries about every 9 months and I fly 180 hours per year. That comes to about 135 hours per battery set. One other point and another main advantage of the Peltor headset in the LNC2, is the height. With the other headsets, the headsets kept hitting the top of my cockpit. The Peltor only ads anout 1/8 to 1/4 inch to your head. Four good reasons to look at the Peltor are: (the Sennheisse(German Peltor) should also be good or better) 1) Price $524 (last year) from Aircraft Spruce 2) Low profile 3) Best passive noise reduction 4) No external batteries flapping around Sincerely, Lorn H.
