The Door is spring loaded closed. 2. If manual, is it by a "pull" type of cable? No manual control over the alt door. 3. How is the air still filtered? I thought the idea would be to get the air after the filter in case the filter is clogged? Air is filtered all the time unless of course the filter or inlet becomes clogged in which case the alternate door opens. The alternate air door is just behind the filter and gets its air from inside the engine cowling. The air box is bee hive shaped and is a part of the lower engine cowl.
