Yep! the kind of termination where as you say, you "drill a hole in a bolt and ....." - that's the one being talked about in recent posts. I use these in two places, Mixture (because that's what was standard on the Lycoming I have) and Carb heat. On both of these, however, I have springs arranged to yank the control to a common position. For the mixture, the spring will force it to go to full-rich, and on the carb heat, the spring will take it to "off". I have some 500+ hours on my Lancair and neither of these control wires have broken - YET -. If and when they do (as they probably will someday) I'll replace them with the "bug-nuts". They're only still in there since I wasn't all that savvy about their propensity for failure I've been hearing about.
