I currently have these installed for prop governor control and ram air door actuation. Changing these will be a headache. Do other people share Rick's view on this? What's the experience out there?< The prop governor must be spring loaded to fine pitch so in the event of a control disconnect there is no problem other than perhaps a temporary overspeed. You can easily check to insure that your governor willl go to fine pitch in the event of a disconnect. Of course the throttle and mixture are not spring loaded and a disconnect would be a very serious situation thus the reason Rick's advice is good. If a failure of the control is critical to flight then use the cable grip ends because they are more reliable. I don't consider ram air doors, cabin heat valves and cowl flaps critical to safe flight.
