Been flying with an Aerocomposites prop on my LIV for about 200hrs and 18
mos and it works great: Weighs little, works well, goes fast, looks
good.

I think
there are quite a few Lancairs with the Aerocomposites prop. I wonder if
any have had a blade "sticking" problem like I have. On a hot day after
a flight and sitting for maybe an hour, one blade seems to tighten up in the
hub, preventing it from going to flat pitch. During the runup it will
pull the engine speed down (go to coarse pitch), but will sometimes not come
back. After sitting for enough time to thoroughly cool it will work
normally. It has never been a problem in flight. This happened
once when the prop was relatively new and Aerocomposites took it back for
repair. Now a year later it has happened again. Anyone else had a
similar problem? Aerocomposites said my prop was the first one with that
problem. Gary Casey ES, Lycoming engine
