Having the dump valve closed while shutdown is another gear down safety. On jacks, see how easy it is to trip an overcenter link by hand and retract a gear leg. It's virtually impossible against the hydraulic pressure of a closed dump valve. So, if there is any chance that the plane might be moved, I'd rather the valve be closed. And, because I've become so forgetful, I think I'll just keep mine closed as SOP in case I'm transient somewhere and might not remember then. Taxi safe, Mark Ravinski 360 1432 hrs.
