In an effort to help fellow Legacy builders reduce their project costs, we are now offering the highest quality brake master cylinders available for the Starflight rudder pedals and the Lancair floor mounted adjustable pedals. These cylinders are a direct replacement for the Parker 10-88 master cylinders available only through Lancair for $261 each. These master cylinders are priced at $159 each (clevis included). This is a $408 savings over using the Parker MC for a set of four cylinders on dual brake controls.

 

These master cylinders are manufactured by Grove Aircraft Brake Systems, a world leader in aircraft braking systems for certified and experimental aircraft. The shafts are machined from Stainless Steel 17-4PH for higher strength and corrosion resistance. The Parker shafts are nickel plated steel, vulnerable to plating failure over time. The interior of the Grove cylinders are roller burnished for polished mirrored surfaces that are harder and last longer in service.

 

The Starflight Grove master cylinder is also lighter than the Parker cylinder because the metal between the fittings is machined away -- saving an ounce per cylinder, a quarter pound of weight in a dual control four cylinder installation.
