It depends on your engine, Ed. Type 1 vs. 2 refers to the angle of the cut on the engine mount ears (flanges). You definitely need to know which your engine uses as the engine mounts must have the mounting rings (or cups) at the correct orientation to be compatible with that specific angle. The difference is substantial from one type to the other and are not interchangeable. Someone on the list may have the data for your engine, however, you should be able to get that information from the engine manufacturer as long as you can tell them the exact engine part number. The angle of the cuts on the mounting flanges, and therefore the angle of the bolt holes thru the flanges, are supposedly designed to point the mounting bolts at some point within the engine, such that lines extended thru the length of the bolts will converge at that point. The theory is that it reduces vibration, I believe. In any case, you must use the correct type as relates to your engine part number.
