My last flat, after a beautiful landing, was a pinhole in the inner tube side wall. I could see no reason for the hole. There was nothing wrong with the tire at all. The landing before that was actually 3 landings at Tangier Island in the Chesapeake. The runway goes up and down. All 3 landings were pretty good. I am not sure about the tire pressure. The valve was not leaking. The stem was in good shape.
The tire had been on the plane for 9 weeks. 100% of my flat tires have been within 3 months of changing the tires. If my tires last for 3 months, they will never go flat even when the the threads are pretty much gone.
I always carry a spare tire and tube.
A question, What is causing the flats - what is found after inspecting the tube / tire.
