An axiom comes to mind, sometimes it is very dangerous to continue doing things just because you have been successful so far.

I have been successful for a while using automobile jack stands modified by attaching a small bottle jack to them to jack up my airplane.  I was always a little nervous and was very careful.  I lifted the nose using a hydraulic lift.  Yesterday while replacing a leaking hose and checking for leaks, one of the stands failed, pulling the hoist over and crashing the aircraft on the hangar floor.  The good news is no one was hurt.  First order assessment looks like the lower cowl, the ram air inlet and the right gear doors were damaged.  Second look I noted the throttle body was snapped off.

Lemonade from lemons: It was time to rebuild the ram air anyway to include an airfilter , and now I am not worried about it not fitting in the lower cowl, since it requires extensive repair!

I purchased lifting tables and I am looking for some thick dense foam to use to lift the airplane and use as safety backup.

The questions I am struggling with so far are:
Should I claim this on my insurance?
What throttle body should I replace the broken one with?
Where would be the best place to purchase a throttle body?
What other improvements make sense at this point?

I read all the posts to LML and have learned so much from this forum that I think it would be folly to proceed with out asking for input from the group. Thanks in advance for any advice or insight into my little problem.
