Home Depot has a real neat set of low voltage undercounter lights that I used in the overhead.  I used one for the front and one for the back with a tiny 3 position switch (and diode) wired for front - off - both.  Works real well and looks good.

Talk to Vern about the little eyeball lights that shine down on the panel.  I believe that he is stocking them now.  I used a switch with a lighted handle (red) to control them as I was afraid of leaving them on in the daylight and running down the battery.
