lean a TSIO-550 engine at a field with 5 or 10K
density altitude? The turbo at redline MP and RPM makes
more HP at 5000 feet and 10,000 feet than it does at sea
level. Not a good time to lean it.

Agreed.....the
power correction for each inch Hg is approx. 3.9% and the correction
for each 10
deg C is approx. 2%. Remember this is manifold air temp not
outside temp.
If the turbo
maintains MP and the manifold temp goes down, then the power goes up,
thus you need
more fuel not less. An IO550 would be a different story. At 10,000 ft it
would be
at
approx. 25% power loss. Approx. 25 gph vs 18-19 gph
required.
