Please look at the cross section of the aileron with the curved forward edge where the lead counter weight is attached. Now visualize, for a moment, the lead weight ever so slightly bending this curved section as the aileron rapidly oscillates at the "balance" point. Now think for a moment.....if this curved section bends it gets longer...... then the natural "spring" action in this section returns the curve to a "near normal" nonbent point as the slipstream tries to fair the aileron. I say "near normal" because the return probably over shoots the static balance point causing an under balanced condition for milli seconds. My mind's computer says this causes the aileron to be in and out of balance with a cycle too fast to count. I believe the bending action is what is causing an intermittent out of balance condition by only a few grams of weight because the length of curved moment arm is changing by a few thousandths of an inch, both longer and shorter, in a cycle. If these thoughts are on ....the corrective fix is pretty obvious to me. Comments from other readers, please.
