The 450 deg F cylinder temp is too high. The exit area for the engine cooling air must be larger than the inlet area by about 1.2 to 1.5. It sound like the engine is simply not cooling enough. Also the baffling around the engine must be tight so that all the air passes around the cylinder fins. This is real important and that may be your problem.
