They are expensive little buggers, but they are round and compact. Shrink wrap the wire and the connector, and they will last forever. We used the number one pin always as the +12 volts, and I believe the center pin as the ground, then we always followed a specified color format for the other numbered pins. It worked quite well. I will say, that soldering the wires to the pins was quite tedious, but a slip on magnifier on my head helped immensely.
