I decided to call Lancair to try and find out whether there was any other
information available regarding the Dreamcatcher accident, spoke to Orin
about it and apparently all they know is what is in the official report as
well.  The report suggests that the aircraft entered a nose-high attitude
and then crashed in a nose-low attitude and that the accident occurred
during climbout.  It also suggested that the purpose of the flight was to
perform a low altitude high speed pass over the runway.  So far I have been unable to discern whether the crash happened during
initial climbout or on the climbout which followed the proposed high speed
pass.   Orin proposed that it _may_ have been an accelerated stall which
occurred after the high speed pass, but admitted that the likelihood of a
typical departure stall after takeoff is just as possible, and that any
unsubstantiated information in this regard is conjecture at best, rumor at
worst.  If any of you who are in the Tallessee, AL area are able to get us
some additional info, it would be very much appreciated.  This is one of
those sad situations which could ultimately yield some positive effects if
there is a safety issue which can be ascertained from the facts.

At this point in time it would appear that the accident was caused by pilot
error, but we cannot know for sure until more concrete information can be
had.  I understand that the pilot who was killed was actually the 4th owner
of the Dreamcatcher.  My condolences go out to his family and friends.
