According to Lycoming tech folks, the injection system on this engine requires
a minimum of 1150 lbs of air per hour and they also specify a pressure drop
not to exceed 6". In addition and although it is not official Lycoming policy,
I was strongly encouraged not to install an oil saturated filter on an
injected engine, use a dry air filter only. Apparently any oil which finds its
way into the injection system can lead to very expensive repairs.
Have any of you researched air filters and gotten tech data sheets from filter manufacturers?
