FAR 91.319 (3) states "(Each person operating an aircraft that has an experimental
certificate shall) Notify the control tower of the experimental nature of the
aircraft when operating the aircraft into or out of airports with operating
control towers.

Therefore I identify myself as "Lancair Experimental N170BR" on first contact with
ATC or the tower IF I am not under a VFR or IFR flight plan.
