I have recently sold my Mooney 231 and am looking at the possibility of a Lancair. I am interested in the advantages of a kit and I am searching for a source of info that outlines the benefits/ advantages of a kit rather than a production. I am looking for a 4 place retractable with cross country capability with speeds in excess of 200 mph. The Lancair factory has indicated that the airplane to meet these requirements is the L-IV. This airplane is beautiful and the performance is equally beautiful. My questions are where can I find a source for info on benefits of experimental. Additionally I know that Mooney had a group and magazine for get togethers and was wondering if Lancair has a similar group and fly ins. I would like to view and possibly fly the Lancair and talk to current Lancair builders and owners.
