When you say LNC2 or LNC20 you mean Lancair 235? Is there any other diference between the 320 and the 360 besides the powerplant? Apart the big tail is there any other diference between a 360 Mk1 and a Mk2? (the flutter is NOT a valid answer) Does exist a 235 Mk2? It is possible that you tell us in your mails about which kit are you speaking exactly (235, 360, Mk2, LNC2, 20...) ? Well, everything in just ONE question: How many diferent 2 seater Lancair do exist? As many as builders is NOT a correct answer :) We have Marvs flutter report. Is there any other? Yours, Patrick TAMELLINI http://fly.to/shogun360 ["LNC2" is the official designator assigned by the FAA to _all_ 2-place models of the Lancair. The confusion for us comes from the fact that builders have chosen to install different powerplants into the same airframe, hence the change in model number. For example, Lancair 200 was originally intended for use with an O200 engine... then someone decided that they could get better performance with an O235 or O290 engine, so even though the airframe was the same, the model number changed to reflect the powerplant being used. There were some minor airframe mods which came along with the Lancair-320, but as soon as someone dropped an O360 into one it became the Lancair-360. (I have the same problem with the Builders' List, in that so many people are using different engines in the same airframe, I chose a few of my own model names just to try to keep everything straight (ie, the Lancair-235/320 is an original L235 airframe into which an O320 has been installed.) The MKII indicates an airframe which uses the larger MKII carbon fiber horizontal tail. I don't remember if there have been any Lancair-235's which have retrofitted it or not. The point is that the MKII simply indicates the airframe has the larger tail feathers. When you ask about how many different versions of the 2-seater exist, it's not quite as many as there are builders, but it's close . And if you want to further complicate the issue, what do you call one that has an alternative powerplant in it?? (My airframe is basically a Lancair 320 MKII, but I can't call it that with a different engine in it, at least not according to the present model name scheme.) As for the flutter issue, as far as I know the info which resides on the flutter page on my website is the only compendium of that infor- mation which has been gathered into one place. As you are probably aware, we had a recent flurry of discussion regarding it here between Martin and Dennis Olcott, but that info hasn't been incorporated into the flutter page, and I presently don't intend to put it there. (There have been some questions about the fiber orientation, and Martin has confirmed that his mod is to be installed with the fibers running 0/90 degrees to the longitudinal axis of the airplane, exactly as is indicated on his sketch which is included in the flutter page. I just thought I'd toss that in here for anyone who's still wondering about it.) I hope this helps answer your questions. ] >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML homepage: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html
