I have a Toshiba tablet pc that I have tried to use in the cockpit. It doesn't work very well. The screen is not  bright enough during the day and was too bright at night. My hope is that the T-pad will have a greater range of brightness adjustment. For the GPS/USB receiver you might want to check out the Rayming TN-200. It is WAAS enabled and only costs about $100.
