Today I installed the muffler assembly. Over the week end we cut apart a stainless steel exhaust ball joint and an adapter piece, then welded them to make the exhaust pipe. It all went together well, with good alignment and no stress.
The weather was too poor for flying, but I did do a ground test and two 'Land Backs'. I inspected it after letting everything cool down, and I think it's good to go.
It's not much quieter at idle and low power, but does a good job of reducing sound pressure at take off power.
