It may be easier to use 4, leaving the stock rotor mounted injectors in place, as they are nearly in the chamber as it is. Staging goes away in every airplane installation I've heard of. The staging is where Mazda closes off one intake in order to keep the velocity up on the other. In conjunction, they have to shut down one bank of injectors. We don't shut off any of the runners, so we don't have to worry about shutting down any injectors. With the MegaSquirt, I alternate between the injectors and I get a very smooth idle down to 800rpm. The other thing that would need to occur is injector timing. The benefit for a rotary is to try to keep fuel away from the apex seal area. If you can spray the the fuel into the center of the chamber and keep it there, two of the rotary's biggest drawbacks go away. You won't loose efficiency by having unburnt fuel, because the combustion was quenched in the apex seal area. AND you'll have a cooler and quiter exhaust, since that unburnt fuel won't be there to burn in your exhaust pipe. The MegaSquirt has the ability to adjust the injector timing, but I haven't played with it yet. -- Homepage: http://www.flyrotary.com/ Archive and UnSub: http://mail.lancaironline.net:81/lists/flyrotary/List.html
