Actually, I don't really know if it is the front bearing or not.  However, I was concerned enough the front bearing was borderline in spec...and actually looked a bit rough to me that I feel better about replacing it.  I am also replacing the rear pressure valve to the later, higher pressure part.

It will also allow me to pull apart the oil pump and check the various innards of the oil system so to hopefully get to the bottom of the issue.  Now that the engine is off the plane this should be easier.  I hope not to have to crack the block open as other than the low oil (yeah, a dang big "other"), the engine has been running great and I was preparing for my DAR inspection.

I could have fudged around with it all for a while, but hopefully just pulling it and trying to address the issues directly and address the things that are most likely the issue will hopefully solve the problems.  I do hate just replacing parts out of mere speculation, but again, the front bearing was a question..  I will also be able to check the front oil O-ring again, even though I just replaced it two weeks ago when I just pulled the front cover while the engine was still on the plane....requiring a bit of gymnastics....

All input as to what to look for while I am at it is greatly appreciated (while including reading the archives too but I do not wish to discourage reminders!!!).
