I thought I squeeze some Single Rotor
update in while it is quiet.
The engine is back on the test stand with
two major modifications. The first one is the fix for a earlier described
coolant flow problem. The second one is a tamed down and improved PP
arrangement.
My P-Port timing was, as I would call
it "very aggressive". Such as a large crossection and very early opening time.
It produced a lot of power, but I could not make it run as smooth as I wanted
below 3000 RPM. At the same time, I tried to get acquainted with the AROVEE
Throttle Body injector.
The configuration I have now is more what
Mark has on his 3-rotor, including the welded insert. Thanks Mark for coming up
with that idea!
The improvements showed up rightaway on the
first test run. Injector tuning was a one step issue, and it idles without a
miss at 2000 RPM. Have not pushed for how much lower it will go yet.
One more test run with about 20 minutes at
5000 RPM, and the mods will be transferred to the flight fest engine.
Before that, I am going to
SanAntonio for a few days, helping a family member Marine who got beat up in AF
getting back on his feet.
