Regarding pre-mixing of the 2-stroke, my airplane hold 94 gallons, (47 gallons per tank). I try to refuel when I am at least 64 gallons down, adding 32 gallons/tank, so that I can just pou= r in one quart of 2-stroke (per tank) while pumping the 100LL. I ran it a bi= t lower than usual this time, taking 37 gallons in the left tank and 32 in th= e right, so I added another 5 ounces to the left tank from a 3rd bottle. While some rotorheads mix a bit leaner (3/4 oz/gal), I mix one ounce of 2-stroke per gallon. And Mark, my math (75 G * 4 qts / 2 qts) says you ar= e mixing at 150:1 =85 seems a bit light.

Perhaps I=92m mixing too strong 22 L / .2 L =3D 110:= 1, one Gerry can at t time.

One quart =3D 32 oz. = =A0So I added a little over 2 qts (1 qt./tank) along with 75 gal. of fuel (= 37 gal/tank). =A0As I figure, that is approx. 1 oz/gal. =A0That is the rati= o of oil/fuel I've always used.=A0

As for switching from= mogas, I switched because a year ago the %$#@%&^ government=A0bureaucr= ats=A0mandated that all gas stations in Texas switch to 10% ethanol for all= grades of fuel. =A0As I've heard from others on the Lancair list, etha= nol will attack and soften the adhesive used to bond the wings together. = =A0When that happens the tanks will begin to leak, or worse. =A0I've se= arched and searched for non-ethanol mogas in my area and the closest that I= could find is at a marina about 75 miles away from where I live, or 125 mi= les from where I keep the airplane... not a workable solution. =A0So, for n= ow, I'm stuck with 100LL. =A0The engine runs fine on 100LL and it doesn= 't mess with the integrity of the wings. =A0It just costs me an extra $= 100 to fill 'er up. =A0I try not to think about it. =A0
