Ernest,
The FC stock pan weighed 6.25 lbs (In the shipping box)..............Are you unable to
use as is ?...............Wonder how much weight you will be able to save with .025 4150
plate ?.............How much did your steel/glass hybrid weigh ??.................

The bottom motor mount tubes cut through the stock FC pan.  That and the weight was the reason I went with a steel/glass hybrid in the first place.  My hybrid was much lighter than the stock unit, but I never weighed it.  I don't know exactly how much I'll save with the .025 replacement, but the goal is to make it fit and possibly cut down on oil volume more than just using thinner material.  Weight loss from thinner material is just a bonus.

I'll weigh the hybrid unit after I pull it off.  I could have just repaired the leak by beefing up the area a bit, but I just wasn't comfortable with how closely the exhaust ended up being to it after everything was installed and fitted...even with the shield I installed.  Anybody with a less tightly packed installation want to give a composite oil sump a try?
