All true.

But I am flying out of a Class C airport that has a Class B on top of it.
Flying to the east, I have orange groves to crash into, any other direction
it is tightly packed residential area.  He wanted me to make it back to the
airport incase of engine failure which reduces considerably after 10 hours.

So far, the plane is flying fine.  I have a little over 5 hours on it.

I followed the suggestion made yesterday by Steve Boese and that worked
wonders!  I can not believe how simple tuning became after reading that
note!  I cleared everything out and set my staging at 19.5, set mixture just
below staging with Mode 3, set mixture just above staging with mode 6,
adjusted the idle with mode 2 and made a few tweaks with mode 1 and flew!

As Tracy suggested I put a valve in the heater line, but so far, I can not
see if it made any difference.  After tuning the engine and then getting a
delay getting on the active, my engine water was at 197 when I took the
active.  It climbed to about 210 and then settled down at 199 again after I
got leveled off.  Oil was 175.  I am going to reinstall pressure sensors
under the cowl to see if I can find a way to increase the air flow thru
there.

I need to work on my landings..  :>)

That is crazy for anything that cruises over 125 or so!!!  In OK our RV guys
routinely get 100 miles initially and then the entire state.  If not you're
constantly turning and van't really concentrate on the testing!  Doug
