I wish they had been more specific than to just say, "high power/high rpm use". I don't ever run over 7000 rpm, more like 6500 - 6800 rpm, then only for a short time during takeoff. My motor is N/A, but it is p-ported. If my motor was boosted, or if I ran 8500 rpm or higher, I might be concerned. I normally cruise at about 5400 rpm. However, next time I have the pan off I will probably go ahead and up-size the oil pickup tube. Assembly Notes and Special Requirements

Front Housing

All front housings are machined to accept the =93NF01=94<= /p>

stock oil pump - the best performance pump Mazda

has ever made. It will also accept any stock oil pump

pickup. However, you are cautioned that some of the

stock pickups are restrictive for high rpm engines

running high oil pressure. The best example of this is

the 20B pickup, which is not suitable for high power

/ high RPM use. All such engines can benefit from a

1=94 OD pickup.
