The water flows over the hot side of the engine first and then over
the intake side to warm that side of the engine. I think this was done
to help even out expansion.

My engine compatment and exhaust ejector have caused me to possibly use an
stand alone Toyota water pump.  I found a block that permits connection to
the front housing water passages originally located behind the factory water
pump.  The bottom line is can I reverse the coolant flow through the block
without any ill effects?  Thanks for any help.
