One guy flew with me and the other 3 took Southwest. Door to door travel time: RV=3D3.25hrs. Southwest=3D4.5hrs Direct cost: RV=3D $110 pp.RT Southwest=3D$310pp.RT. Plus, in the RV we had complete flexibility = with travel times and got to do some great sight seeing on the way (like half-dome etc). Of course, none of that factors in the time and money already spent on the RV, which is outlandishly excessive, but I'm trying to justify here. =20 On the way home N4VY clicked over 500hrs TTAF. Not really very much by many standards, but a small milestone. I think of all the places I have been and all the formation flying I have done and it is amazing that I only have 500 hrs.
