George, I like the Racemate alternator. They don't make a stand-alone water pump. They make pumps that replace the standard pumps on V8s. I talked to them about a remote mount pump, but they didn't think there would be enough sales to justify making them. BillSent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

Bill,
I stand corrected, 95gpm is more than we need, I
think Mazda claims 53gpm at 7,000 rpm.
What do you think of the alternator/ water
pump?

George, Actually
the renisis pump is NOT better. It is cheaper to make. The thing to remember
is tha it's also reverse rotation. It is driven by the back side of the micro
groove belt. The Maziere pump is nice with a machined impeller. They claim 95
gpm at 7000 rpm. Bill Jepson

Mark /Kelly,
I believe the Renesis is a much improved version
of the 13B pump, but can't remember the reasons. I assume it is partly because
of the impeller and partly because of the tolerances between the impellor and
the pump housing ( being a close tolerance).
Do you have any info on the impellor/ tolerances
etc.
George ( down under)
Kelly,
Keep in mind that I'm comparing it to a 20B water pump, not a 13B water
pump. The 20B pump (housing & cartridge, no pulley) weighs 11.8
lbs. The Renesis pump & housing after being cut off the front
cover is 4.5 lbs. So, I potentially can save over 7 lbs. The big
question is if the Renesis WP flow is enough water to cool the 20B.
At present, I'm still gathering parts for the conversion, so I'm
currently running the stock 20B pump.
Any idea what the Meziere pump weighs? You'll need to add the
weight of brackets too. The Renesis pump will fit onto the front cover
same as the stock pump... well, with a few minor mods.

Michael,
Beautiful pump but did you see a few posts back
that Mark Steitle has
adapted a RX8 aluminum pump to his 20B and reported several lbs
of
weight saving..........Jump in here Mark............Photos welcome
