water pump
Michael,
Mark saws the pump housing from the one piece Renesis
front cover
and with as he says "minor mods" bolts it to his 20B.........After he
gets
it installed perhaps he will have some photos plus a report on
how well
it cools ,etc..............

Kelly:
So does that mean that potentially one could fit
an RX8 front cover with pump & cartridge to the older 13B? I was not
aware that was possible. I know the newer pump cartridges are much lighter
and would get me at least half way to my goal. The original 1988 13b water
pump is a big heavy cast iron monster and is deep enough that interferes
with my firewall.
How deep are the newer RX8 pumps?
I know a few yeas back, long before I came on scene PL
made a run of water pump housing castings that fit on the 13b and could use
the newer RX8 pump cartridge. I communicated with him about obtaining one
but if I remember correctly there were none left. Bob White had
one of them that he was not using but at the time he wanted to hang on to it
for his Sunbeam conversion and was not ready to sell. If anyone has one
of these old PL manufactured water pump housings to fit on the older 13b and
take the new stamped RX8 pump cartridge, and are willing to sell I
would be interested.
