Mazda probably changed designs as a cost-savings measure. I would think that under high loads the renesis' impeller blades could flex. It looks more like the typical American automobile water pump. But is the renesis pump more efficient? I have no idea. Anyone want to volunteer to run a flow test? Do you have any info on the impellor/ = tolerances=20 etc.=A0

Keep in mind that I'm comparing it to a 20B water pump, not a 13= B water=20 pump. =A0The 20B pump (housing & cartridge, no pulley) weighs 11.8 lb= s.=20 =A0The Renesis pump & housing after being cut off the front cover is= =20 4.5 lbs. =A0So, I potentially can save over 7 lbs. =A0The big question=20 is if the Renesis WP flow is enough water to cool the 20B. =A0

At present, I'm still gathering parts for the conversion, so I&#= 39;m=20 currently running the stock 20B pump.=A0

Any idea what the Meziere pump weighs? =A0You'll need to add the= =20 weight of brackets too. =A0The Renesis pump will fit onto the front cover= =20 same as the stock pump... well, with a few minor mods.
