Not in so many words, although we
did discuss cruising at between 60-70% a couple of times.

Did he comment on how much continuous hp it can handle?

Hey Mark;
When Tracy and I first started
talking about this, he figured we were good for 400 HP at take-off.
We're just going that extra horsepower for reserves.....(:-) We have
an adjustable waste gate, and will be "experimenting " with different spring
sizes, once on the dyno.

Greg,
Sounds like you're making good progress. The scoop is too
cool.
I'm curious, have you discussed with Tracy running that much HP
through his gearbox? Is he OK with it? I'm building a P-port
20B which ought to produce approx. 375 hp and would be
interesting in hearing what he had to say.
Can't wait to see the dyno video!

The engine is at Bob Wirth's
shop. We have been fabricating the intake, exhaust, turbo mounts,
intercooler lines, block-off plates, throttle linkage mounts, fittings
for oil, water, etc. new pulleys, alternator mounts, coil mounts, and a
host of other stuff to make the engine work. The plate mount at
the oil pan did not match up exactly, along with the oil pickup,
extensive modification there. Had to build a separate mount at the
flex plate to fit on the dyno, because Tracy's was configured
differently, but Tracy's will end up on the final redrive setup.
And on and on. We are very near finishing the mount frame to
adapt the engine to the dyno, and then all hell will break loose.
i will try to get a video up to show the first runs, and charts when we
are on dyno. The scoop was a major pain in the a.., because of the
mathematics, but will hopefully work well. Either way, we feel it
looks good......say, around 450 H.P. at take off. O.K.
Tracy???

Finally
in the new hanger. Finishing hydraulics. Waiting
(patiently) for the engine. Scoop, radiator, oil cooler in place
and pressure tested.
