Tracy and all,  Boy, I hoped more people than 15% were on the list, at least just lurking. There is so much to gained, and learned by listening and reading discussions on the list. I sure hope people don't end up making some of the mistakes that could have been avoided by being active on a list like this, and someone get hurt or worse as a result.  I would not even consider a project like this with out this type of wealth of knowledge at my disposal. Just not worth the risk.

His name is Sam Hodges.  I was
surprised that I had never
heard of him, so I did a search of the fly rotary list and
found one reference
to him by Doug Lomheim back in Jan of this year.  He is
not listed as a
customer of Tracy’s but has a lot of Tracy’s stuff
installed.

Unfortunately, I have not kept the customer list up to date
in years.  I would guess that less than 15% of customers
are active on this list.  There are a lot of "lone
rangers" out there.   For example, a grass farmer
from Oregon (Marion Knox) made the first flight in his
Renesis powered RV-6 a week or so ago.  Tracy Crook

Does anybody know what kind of prop
that is?  I think Sam’s
rad and oil cooler were made by Ed Klepsis at
TechWelding.  Looks like it
may be a water to oil cooler.

I have
traded emails with him, but it has
been a while.  I don’t know if these pics are still
accurate.

A friend just sent me a group of
pictures of a really well built
RV-9A with a rotary installation.  He has just done his
first engine
start.  His name is Sam Hodges.  I was surprised that I
had never
heard of him, so I did a search of the fly rotary list and
found one reference

Talk about your really good job
without any input from the list!

I would like to see more of his
plane so I hope someone who knows him
will post some picures soon.
